Best College Reviews Ranks Alfred University Among The Top 50 Best Small Colleges 2017-2018

Small colleges have lots to offer those who want a challenging education experience, with leadership and experiential learning opportunities not available in large colleges.

Best College Reviews ranked Alfred University among the top 50 best small colleges for 2017-18 based on the following criteria:
• 500-2000 undergraduate students
• Provide campus housing
• Offers graduate degrees
• Over 50% graduation rate
• No more than $30,000 tuition
• Student to faculty ratio 15:1 or less
• 74% or higher retention rate

AU Business School among Princeton Review’s 2017 ‘Best’

Alfred University’s School of Business has been included in a new survey by The Princeton Review of the best business schools in the U.S. AU is featured in The Review’s 2017 edition of The Best 294 Business Schools.

“We chose the 294 schools in this book based on our high regard for their academics and our assessment of institutional data we collect from the schools,” Robert Franek, Princeton Review Senior Vice President/Publisher said this week in announcing the new edition.

The Princeton Review developed its review of best business schools in part through a survey of 25,000 students attending business schools in the U.S. The survey asked the students about their school's academics, student body, and campus life as well as about themselves and their career plans.

AU’s School of Business drew particular praise for its “intimate environment,” interaction between students and professors, and support services such as the Robert R. McComsey Career Development Center, according to Franek.

Alfred University again among the nation’s 2017 best, says The Princeton Review

Alfred University is again among the nation’s “best” colleges, according to The Princeton Review’s 2017 edition of its college guide, “The Best 381 Colleges.”

“Outstanding, talented and dedicated” describes Alfred University’s faculty, the guide says. “The professors are always pushing you to reach your full potential” and “are always willing to put time into student independent projects.”

According to the guide, “Students also rave about the small class sizes. ‘It is the closet to one-on-one teaching you can get.’”

Brookings 2015 Study Ranks Alfred University Higher than Yale, Dartmouth

Alfred University (AU) scored on par with Princeton and better than Yale and Dartmouth in the recently released Brookings Institution's "value added" assessment of some 4,000 schools nationwide.

AU was also the best-rated school in Western New York.
